Hi! I'm Anna! I live in Manila, Philippines. I have a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication in one of the distinct universities here in my country. I have been Tutoring for almost 3 years now which had me earn my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate. I'm a native Filipino speaker and I can also speak English with an American accent proficiently. I learned English after being exposed to mulitnational companies as an Executive Assistant for more than 12 years. I've worked with top executives including Chinese and Australian nationals. I also enjoy watching English-speaking films, talk shows, tv shows which allows me to increase my comprehension and be able to adopt words and expressions from native speakers. In my years of teaching experience, I have learned how powerful language is. Teaching English is not just about earning. It's an advocacy to help the people to connect with others around the world through language. And an even wider exposure to students from all over the globe could be a great opportunity for someone like me who enjoys teaching both kids and adult learners to make them feel comfortable and confident when speaking in English. And I can help you to be a part of that world where people can work hand-in-hand because they can comprehend each other because of language. Overtime, I have learned how to balance fun and work in an online session room or classroom. And I've been able to provide myself with techniques applicable to motivate, teach, and inspire the students. I always make it a point to have a fun and engaging lesson for each of my students. I use appropriate teaching aids, gestures, facial expressions and Total Physical Response or TPR to present the target words properly. I am patient, caring and understanding to my students. I adjust my speed based on the student's level and capacity to cope up. I conduct lesson-related expansion to see to it that my students can learn more apart from what is written on the lesson materials. That way they can exercise free talk as well. I use example conversations and dialogues. This technique can somehow ensure that the student won't end up just saying and repeating the words over and over again and then forgets it in a split second because they didn't understand how it works and how to use it in conversations. Learning English isn't just about repetitions. It's about being in a conversation which should be the main goal. I hope I could be of help to you in this journey. I'll see you in class!
